ERA unlocks new standards of door security with TS 003 devices

ERA is extending its certified solutions offering with the launch of two new heavy duty TS 003 door security devices, adding to its premium collection of Fab&Fix  suited hardware.

Designed to limit the initial opening of an external door, the heavy duty Door Chain and Door Restrictor have been expertly engineered to provide additional security. The products have been independently tested and certified to protect the integrity of the door in distraction burglary situations, where extreme and repeated force may be applied.

The TS 003 Door Chain allows homeowners to safely identify and speak with visitors without granting access, helping to protect against forced entry, while the TS 003 Door Restrictor can be easily applied and released when the door is closed, providing a simple yet robust security solution.

PAS 24 compatible, the door chain is suitable for use with timber and PVCu doors, and the restrictor with timber and composite doors. Both devices are easy to fit and are available as part of the Fab&Fix range of perfectly matching hardware in a choice of patented Hardex finishes, including Chrome, Gold, Bronze, Graphite and Satin.

Sarah Knight, Product Manager at ERA, commented: “Fabricators and their customers rightly demand both style and substance when it comes to hardware choices. Our new TS 003 door chain and restrictor deliver on both counts.

The choice of premium Hardex finishes offers a high-end, durable aesthetic, while the TS 003 certification reflects ERA’s continued commitment to offering security solutions that achieve the most demanding performance standards.

“With many homeowners receiving more door callers as we increasingly shop online, and distraction burglary being an ongoing concern for older customers, in particular, the new TS 003 certified devices are a timely addition to our Fab&Fix range.”

Both products have undergone thorough testing to conform to TS 003:2012 and BS EN 1670:2007. This includes exceeding breaking forces of 100N and 200 door opening impacts when in abuse mode. In attack mode, the products have been tested to not exceed 25mm at the point of disengagement and 76mm in the ‘on guard’ position.
